HUMBLE BEGINNINGS
Beginning operations in 2004, Derek Van Der Kwaak started The Produce Connection as a one-man operation with one truck and trailer unit servicing Kaipara Kumara in Ruawai.
The Produce Connection soon expanded to 18 trucks with Derek’s sons Zeke and Jeremy joining the team.
Throughout the next 18 years The Produce Connection continued to build a strong presence within the Northland region while maintaining their family roots with the Van Der Kwaak family remaining at the helm.
BOOTH’S LOGISTICS GROUP
In 2022, The Produce Connection was acquired by the Booth’s Logistics group of companies to increase their geographical scope and resource capability within the Northland region.
The acquisition brought the company back to its roots, having originally operated as a produce transporter carrying potatoes to the Auckland market from its home base in the Manawatu.
As part of the wider Booth’s Logistics group of companies The Produce Connection joins industry leading transport, warehousing, and logistics operators located throughout New Zealand.
